@danielkrause13573 years agoAs a black man, this offends me. Months ago when the Land O Lakes Native American Lady got removed I was both confused and angry, but mostly confused. I didn't know her whole backstory, but I knew that Aunt J was a real person and I found it inspiring that a black woman was a mascot for ANYTHING, given the time they lived in. But now things are suddenly soooo FUCKING Racist to uneducated dumbasses, they don't see that THEY are the ones being Racist! They are erasing true and original representation because they are told/taught that it is under the guise of 'equality'! Since 2011 or 2014 things have gone to shit! This infuriates me so much how far this has gotten. AND IT NEEDS TO STOP!!!!! But that's the narcissistic attitude of "WOKE PROGRESSIVES". You ask "Hasn't this gone too far?" They reply "No! We haven't gone far enough!" And I'm fucking sick and tired of it. ...11

@scottconwell21463 years agoGrowing up? A warm, kind image. Honestly don't think I focused on her as a black female, as a child, or as an adult. Didn't think it was stereotyping, don't think so, now. Fixing without historical perspectives on individuals, is just having a hammer, & only seeing all as nails. Great perspectives added here, Mecha! Thank you! Banana pancakes sounds great!. Try mixing a little precooked oatmeal in. Will add yet more creamy flavor & texture. Might need a little more cooking. Try before showing.... ...32

@agnesroman93263 years agoThey can't accept when people succeed on their own terms, compared to playing the victim game and just when things handed to them without when putting effort or any work into becoming a better person, no matter what their background is. Brie Larson comes to mind, a lot as a great example. Apu from the Simpsons is more respectable when it comes to being a hard-working immigrant like my parents had been for years. And even they say that you need to work hard to get where you want to be. They started with only two suitcases and didn't ask anyone for free handouts. ...7

@jenniferlarson64263 years agoI'll never buy anything made by the Pearl Milling Company. This is just crap and who is it helping by doing this...I don't understand that part because I never looked at a container of Aunt Jemima syrup as a symbol of racism. I viewed the product as one made and perfected by someone's grandmother....not a symbol of racism, but if the company wants less sales....they'll get their wish. When they take Uncle Ben's picture off that box of rice...that's it for me. I love Uncle Ben and again...never looked at it as a symbol of racism, but a professional chef who perfected and packaged good quality rice that's easy to prepare. This is all crap. ...1

@ketami23 years agoIt's funny to me that people get upset by some past stereotypes. Sure it's a stereotype now, but all stereotypes start somewhere.
