I’ve been asked lately about how simple carbohydrates can convert to fat easier than complex carbohydrates
I will be speaking a very basic language to make it easy to understand for the beginners
Let’s make an example to make it easier to understand
Let’s say we have 200 grams of brown rice that have 50 grams of carbohydrates and we have donuts that have the same amount of carbohydrates
Brown rice will convert to blood sugar very slow because it’s high in fibers and low in GI
The glycogen stores are the liver and the muscles
These stores will start receiving the 50 grams of carbs came from rice but it will receive it as installments on long period of time
The body will use this glycogen as energy at the same time while the storage are receiving the glycogen
So the possibility of having extra glycogen more than what the stores can have is very low because it didn’t convert at one time
When u receive the same amount of sugar from simple carbs it will convert to blood sugar at the same time all of the amount
And that might cause an extra glycogen that don’t have a space in the stores to be sent to
And that will make your pancreas work harder to produce more insulin and will lead to increase the insulin resistant because of the excessive simple carbs every day then the extra amount of sugar will be converted to fat
And on the long term that will lead to diabetes because the pancreas is exhausted after working for many years on high efficiency
