Ramnagar Fort Varanasi Some 10 km from the downtown of the Varanasi city, there lies a historical marvel - Ramnagar Fort. Constructed in the 17th century, this renowned historical site in Varanasi lies on the eastern bank of the River Ganges. Within the complex of the fort, there is a museum and a temple that are worth a visit. The temple is devoted to Ved Vyas - the one who wrote the Hindu epic Ramayana. There is another temple within the vici nity of Ramnagar Fort which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Whereas, the museum displays a rich and unique assortment of vintage cars, ivory work, swords and old guns, palanquins and antique clocks that belong to royal families. This museum was once used as the Darbar Hall of this popular fort in Varanasi. It also houses elephant saddles, silk costumes
